A Gender Based Pragmatic Analysis of English Apology Strategies used by EFL Learners at University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

The present study is an attempt to explicate the influence of gender and social status in selection English apology strategies different communicative situations. sample for consists forty-two EFL learners. Data were collected analyzed through Discourse Completion Tasks Interviews. Statistically, no significant difference observed use among gender; but result exhibits that both male female while keeping mind interlocutor’s status. findings indicate most frequently used by respondents are 'Explicit expression apology' especially + Explanation or account', 'Expressing regret account' 'Intensifier'. Interestingly, non 'Recognizing interlocutor as deserving lack intent'. This helpful reconnoiter cultural differences strategies.
